SWITCHBLADE 2
=============
Gremlin - £25.99
After the sort of successful Switchblade in which your hero,
Hiri defeated the evil Havoc, Gremlin have given the fella
another job, yes to redefeat Havoc.
This game is exactly in the same style as its predecessor,
ie. a platform type game, consisting of six levels, the overall
task being to defeat Havoc.
Along the way you have to discover the route either by breaking
the walls or by just finding the tunnels etc.
You start off with a knife, this sounds a bit crappy but in fact
it is one of the most useful weapons, the only problem being you
have to get up right close to the enemy to use it. Along the way
you'll find other useful weapons, usually hidden. These could be
a flamethrower, and a homer missile.
After each level you meat one of Havoc's end of level guardians,
which in honest truth look a bit soft compared to something like
Armaltye's or R-Type's.
The grafix are quite good, not special but there is certainly
nothing wrong with them. And the chars and sprites are quite
smoothly animated.
Sound is not too good, but is bearable.
VERDICT
=======
You may think, quite good grafix, not too good sound, so the
games crap. Well you'd be wrong, its the gameplay that makes
this game. Its not too hard, but its enjoyable, and is well
appealing.
